About IKIT Kitchens
Paul has an extensive background in both the construction and cabinetry industry. As a young adult, Paul began his career working for some of Vancouver’s most respected developers working on hi-rises, condos, and apartment buildings installing cabinetry.
Paul transitioned into installing cabinetry in high end homes in West Vancouver and after he began home renovations. During one such home renovation, Paul’s client insisted on having an IKEA® kitchen. Paul had recently put together an IKEA® bookshelf for his son in which he thought the product was not up to his quality standards and thought “there is no way that I would install a kitchen of this quality.” However, the client persisted with her dream of having an IKEA® kitchen and Paul agreed to install the cabinetry from IKEA®.
After this particular renovation he was sold on the cabinetry as the cabinets turned out to be of the same quality he was used to working with in high end homes. Furthermore, he loved the functionality and beauty of the kitchen. After his time spent doing home renovations he decided to move to Vancouver Island to pursue his dream of owning and operating his own kitchen contracting company installing IKEA® cabinetry.
While Paul developed the idea of his company he worked for various cabinet companies across Vancouver Island and without a doubt the functionality and choices IKEA® provides for their cabinetry is second to none. The product of IKEA® is superior overall in price, quality, and availability. Paul took all the expertise he gathered and, has successfully installed many IKEA® kitchens in and around the Comox Valley, with many happy clients. When Paul met his life partner Simone Rusterholz they began brainstorming on the idea of IKIT, a company they could own and operate together.
Simone was born and raised in the Comox Valley. She attended G.P. Vanier Secondary, where after she attended North Island College’s business program.
Simone was raised by a local business family and since attending school and travelling Europe, she spent the last 10 years working for Willy’s Collision in a management position. She developed extensive leadership expertise in all areas of finance, sales and operations. When Simone and Paul met it was a natural fit.
